Teachers Health Group (THG) has announced it will provide disaster relief assistance for its members across its three brands – Teachers Health, Nurses and Midwives Health, and UniHealth.

The company has joined a number of private health insurers in providing relief and support to members impacted by floods in Queensland and New South Wales.

Teachers Health (THG) said its support will focus on premium relief and mental health resources.

"THG invites members who have been impacted by the NSW and QLD floods to touch base with them to determine eligibility and access much-needed services," it said.

“We’re committed to helping eligible Teachers Health Group members get the support they need during such devastating times,” said CEO Brad Joyce.

“We put our members first in everything we do – and now it’s about helping those affected members navigate the best way forward and assist in the best way we can, so they know they are not alone."

Mr Joyce said members who have been directly impacted by the floods can apply for three months’ free cover.

THG is also offering its phone-based Mental Wellness Program to eligible members with Hospital cover via Teachers Healthcare Services.
