Ramsay Health Care has announced that David Thodey AO will succeed Michale Siddle as the chair of its board.
Mr Siddle has served as chair for nine years and will step down following the company's annual general meeting (AGM) in November. He intends to remain on the board as a non-executive director and will seek re-election at the AGM.
Mr Thodey said he looked forward to taking on the role of chair.
“On behalf of shareholders and the Non-Executive Directors of Ramsay I would like to thank Michael for his significant contribution to the Ramsay Board as Chairman since his appointment in 2014. I am pleased that we will be retaining Michael’s extensive corporate knowledge and industry insight and expertise garnered over the many years since he started with Ramsay in 1968.
"Michael has been instrumental in preserving Ramsay’s strong culture centred around our purpose of 'People caring for people' which was brought to life by our founder Paul Ramsay,” said Mr Thodey.
