New report confirms Medibank continues to be a top 100 Australian taxpayer

Medibank has announced that it paid $385.8 million in taxes and levies to Australian authorities in the financial year 2022, making it one of the country's 100 highest taxpayers.

The company released the information in its 2022 Medibank Tax Report.

"Our publication of this report aligns with the Australian Government’s voluntary tax transparency code, designed to promote transparency in the corporate sector in relation to Australia’s tax laws. This is now the 7th year in a row we have chosen to release this report," said Medibank.

The company paid $385.8 million in taxes and levies to Australian authorities in 2022. It reported an effective tax rate of 29.7 per cent during the period.

"We are proud of the ongoing contribution that Medibank makes to Australia’s public finances and, as we’ve said before, we remain committed to paying our fair share," said the company.
