A new director of policy and research for Private Healthcare Australia with Ben Harris joining the association.
Mr Harris will join the association from Australian Health Policy Collaboration at Victoria University where he is currently working as health policy lead.
The association welcomed the appointment saying Mr Harris brings a "wealth of experience in government, politics, and academia and a strong record in policy research".
"Ben’s knowledge and understanding of the breadth and complexity of Australia’s health sector puts him in an excellent position to deal with the challenges the PHI industry will face in coming months," it said.
Mr Harris has previously served in ministerial advisory roles, at both federal and state level, including as an adviser to a federal health minister.
He has also served as the director of public policy and media with AMA Victoria and worked for the Commonwealth Department of Health.
