Former MTPConnect managing director and CEO Sue MacLeman has officially commenced as Chair of the organisation following the departure of Dr Bronwyn Evans.

Dr Evans served as Chair of the government-funded Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals Industry Growth Centre since its creation in 2015.

Ms MacLeman has more than 30 years experience as a pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology executive with senior roles in corporate, medical, commercial and business development.

She has also served as CEO and Board member of several listed companies.

“MTPConnect is delivering some outstanding results and helping to unlock the enormous potential of Australia’s MTP sector and I am delighted to be able to continue contributing now as Chair,” said Ms MacLeman.

“Bronwyn’s expertise and vision as MTPConnect’s inaugural Chair can’t be overstated. Her contribution to our organisation has been immense, her dedication to the broader sector an inspiration and her leadership has set us all up for sustained success.

“Bronwyn’s professionalism and commitment will be missed and on behalf of the Board, I wish her well for the future,” she continued.

Ex-industry executive Dr Dan Grant succeeded Ms MacLeman as CEO in July. He joined MTPConnect from La Trobe University where he served as pro vice-chancellor for industry engagement.

“The MTPConnect team, now led by CEO Dr Dan Grant, is supporting great projects across the country, covering areas ranging from 3D printing and precision medicine to clinical trials, advanced manufacturing and industry mentoring," said Ms MacLeman.

"The team is forging stronger connections between research and industry, maximising opportunities for Australians to not only make scientific and technological breakthroughs, but to see them translated and commercialised.”
