Medibank says it is getting behind small business during the COVID-19 pandemic with the launch of its 'Live Better at Home Champions' program.

“We’re proud to be able to support small businesses across the country by not only sharing their content to our 3.7 million customers but also by showcasing them on our online health hub.”

“The Live Better at Home program was created to provide Australians with free workouts, healthy eating tips and mindfulness which they can do in the comfort of their own home. The video content has had more than 170,000 views in 10 weeks,” said Mr Koczkar.

Medibank’s first Live Better at Home champion is Melbourne-based small business Hip Hop Yoga Brunswick.

Owner Victoria Alessi moved her classes online in response to COVID-19 restrictions and said Live Better at Home has helped to widen her reach, with more than 5,600 views of her content across Medibank’s social channels in the first two weeks.

“I’ve received so many messages of support from my local community who are seeing the business shared across Medibank’s channels. We’re excited to be sharing our business with a new audience and welcoming new clients to the program,” said Ms Alessi.

Byron Bay-based Move & Make is Medibank’s second Live Better at Home champion. The business combines yoga with arts and craft for children.

Owner Sarah Blangiardo said her program has continued online and has helped some children experiencing anxiety as a result of the pandemic.

“Kids consume everything around them and with the stress of home schooling and being away from friends, it was great to be able to continue delivering my program. Moving online also meant I was able to reach more people across the country and help kids learn these mindful practices,” said Ms Blangiardo.
