HBF says it has strengthened its physiotherapy offering by opening six HBF Physio clinics across Western Australia.

The HBF Physio clinics are located in Baldivis, Bull Creek, Busselton, Butler, Midland and Rockingham and follow the health fund’s acquisition of Life Ready Physiotherapy and Pilates 18 months ago.

The company said physiotherapy is its third most claimed ancillary benefit. Around 160,000 HBF members claim for physiotherapy services each year, collectively spending $75 million.

HBF Insurance and Health Services executive general manager Dr Daniel Heredia said the launch of HBF Physio was part of the company's ongoing expansion into the delivery of health services.

“Much like the establishment of HBF Dental in 2021, the launch of HBF Physio will help us enhance the value of private health insurance for our members and assist us to improve their health outcomes,” said Dr Heredia.

“It is built on our 82-year track record of delivering value for our members.”

All new HBF Physio and existing Life Ready clinics will be open to anyone, regardless of their health fund membership.

“HBF members will always have a choice about where they receive treatment,” Dr Heredia said.

“Both HBF Physio and Life Ready share a commitment to high quality, client-focused care and the geographical spread of clinics makes them accessible to not only HBF members but also the general public as well.

“Existing clients at the new-look HBF Physio clinics can continue seeing the same physios they know and love in the same location – regardless of whether they are members with another health fund or see the physio for workers compensation injuries, NDIS support or through an aged care package.”

Dr Heredia said HBF Physio launches with a new no-gap standard initial physiotherapy consultation for eligible members.

“We are very conscious that affordability and cost of living are major concerns across the community right now,” he said.
