HBF has announced the appointment of Perth-based Mary Anne Stephens to its board as a non-executive director.

Ms Stephens has an extensive background in insurance, health and aged care, and the not-for-profit sector, including periods as chief financial officer at Amana Living, Royal Flying Doctor Services WA, and RAC insurance.

She is chair of Diabetes WA, Venues West, and Council On The Ageing WA. She previously served seven years on the board of the WA Country Health Service and is a past non-executive director of Football West.

HBF chair Diane Smith-Gander AO said, “Mary Anne has a great depth of experience in insurance and health that is clearly a great fit for HBF, combined with strong cultural alignment from having worked at a number of not-for-profit organisations. We are delighted to welcome her to the HBF Board following the retirement of Richard England.”

Ms Stephens is a Certified Practicing Accountant (Fellow), Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, and holds a Master of Accounting from Macquarie University.
