Greg Hunt reappointed to health portfolio

Greg Hunt has been reappointed health minister by Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Mr Morrision announced his new Cabinet a short time ago.

Mr Hunt resigned from the portfolio during last week's leadership turmoil. He had been in the portfolio since early 2017 and focussed significant energy on restoring the Coalition government's health credentials.

Mathias Cormann remains in finance, Simon Birmingham is the new trade minister and Karen Andrews the minister for industry, science and technology.

Ken Wyatt is the minister for senior Australians, aged care and indigenous health.

Former health minister Sussan Ley has also returned to the ministry as the assistant minister for  regional development and territories.
