Bupa's new Benefit Pocket app offers health and wellbeing rewards

Bupa has launched a new health app 'Benefit Pocket' that offers cashback rewards from a range of health and wellbeing partners such as 28 by Sam Wood, ECO Modern Essentials, Part & Parcel and Lovekins.

Bupa's chief customer and strategy officer Gerald Marion said Benefit Pocket was developed to provide a convenient and affordable way for people to access popular health and wellbeing services.

“The past two years have placed health and wellbeing top of mind for many Australians and we know they’re looking for more convenient and personalised ways to engage in their health and happiness,” said Mr Marion.

“However, we’re all increasingly time-poor and it can be hard work to track down all the health and wellbeing products and services we’re looking for. We wanted to create a digital hub which offered convenience, choice, access and cashback rewards for a great range of health and wellbeing businesses for people to access in the one place on their phone.”

Mr Marion said Benefit Pocket is launching with health and wellbeing partners across Australia, including services such as fitness classes, groceries and household goods, as well as skincare and apparel.

Bupa said Benefit Pocket will continue to grow its offer to include health and wellbeing experiences based on user interests and introduce course-based learning and experiences for subscribers including areas such as healthy aging and sleep practices.

“While many have turned to virtual services during lockdowns, we know people generally focus on their health and wellbeing in a local way, so we’re also trialling a Bupa Pocket local network in the inner suburbs of Melbourne. Subscribers in these areas can look forward to receiving new cashback rewards from more local businesses in their area in coming weeks.

“Benefit Pocket has been designed for people that want to feel empowered, connected and supported. We know we achieve better health outcomes when we take a more proactive and preventative approach to our health,” said Mr Marion.

According to Daniel Kagan, the co-founder of Part and Parcel, which is one of the businesses joining Benefit Pocket, “We’re excited to be part of a community of like-minded businesses and collectively, encouraging people to live and eat well - having a large and powerful brand like Bupa behind Benefit Pocket, gives me hope that we can achieve this. We’re also excited to be part of something unique - I love that Benefit Pocket is rewarding people for being proactive with their health and wellness and feel this is the future of wellness, preventing rather than treating.”

Benefit Pocket is available to download on the App Store and Google Play.
