A second interim report that looks exactly like the first

An even more odd second interim report from the Senate inquiry into out-of-pocket medical costs and the value and affordability of private health insurance.

The inquiry, which was originally scheduled to report on 27 November, had already been granted an extension to 15 December.

In its 'interim report' of not even 100 words tabled Friday, committee chair Greens Senator Rachel Siewert simply said the committee 'has agreed' to table its final report yesterday, 18 December.

Now, in a second 'interim report' tabled yesterday, committee chair Greens Senator Rachel Siewert said the committee 'has agreed' to now table its final report today, 19 December.

The interim reports, essentially short letters, do not reveal any reason for the delays. They do not discuss or touch on the inquiry, the final report or its recommendations.
