Bupa sticking with Cricket Australia, for now

Bupa is disappointed with the Australian cricket team but will stick with the sport for now.

Australia's largest private health insurer is a major sponsor of Cricket Australia and has been one of many sponsors questioned following the test team's ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.

Captain Steve Smith and vice-captain Dave Warner have been stood down as Cricket Australia embarks on an investigation.

Other sponsors include brewing company Lion, Sanitarium, Magellan Financial Group, KFC, Accenture, Commonwealth Bank and Qantas.

In a statement, Bupa said it welcomed the investigation by Cricket Australia's head of Integrity and Team Performance. Its position reflected that of other major sponsors.

"As a health and care company we believe the game of cricket in Australia is bigger than this incident and the health benefits the sport provides to Australian families is the foundation for our partnership with Cricket Australia," it said.
